Bram Lentjes European champion R/C Pylon Racing

End August this year, at the European championship organised at Olomouc, Czech Republic, our Pylon Racing team consisting of pilot Bram Lentjes and his father Wim reached the first place at this competition originally planned early july and postponed due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Radio-controlled Pylon racing competition consists in a triangular course of 400 m perimeter, marqued with a pylon at each corner. The course has to be flown counterclockwise for 10 laps with a model powered by a 6.5 cc combustion engine. Three models are flown simultaneously and flight time of each model is decisive for the result. Nowadays, best flights score less than 60 seconds, averaging the speed at more then 250 km/h.

Bram is presently studying mathematics at the Utrecht University, specialising is differential claculus.

Reports in NL and FR are available.
